Ammer Font

Ammer Font

Austrian Cartoonist Wolfgang Ammer lent his handwriting to this font, which Miriam Surányi produced. Wolfgang already uses the font in his daily routine: It facilitates corrections and translations of his cartoons for international newspapers.

Rich in contextual alternates, Ammer contains about 1800 glyphs. Each character has multiple alternates, and a complex OpenType substitution feature ensures that the same variant does not appear twice in a line.

As a unique gimmick, the font contains a Tic Tac Toe game: Type a # and turn on stylistic set 20 to activate it. Then, use digits 1–9 for setting the naughts and crosses on their places.
